Founded over 50 years ago, Yutong is currently the World’s largest bus and coach manufacturer – building in excess of 300 vehicles everyday and over 55,000 each year. From humble beginnings Yutong has grown to become a global leader in bus manufacturing and uses the most technologically advanced processes in the world, such as the patented Y.E.S. Electrocoating Anti-Corrosion System, to produce quality large and medium-sized buses that are ensured to last. Yutong also has the largest manufacturing base of new energy buses in the world.
SABOA has become known and respected as the voice of the bus industry and represents its members at national and provincial level with government, fulfills a watchdog function regarding policy and legislation, facilitates training for its SMME members and negotiates benefits for its members. SABOA was formed in 1980 by the five leading bus companies operating at the time. Since then, SABOA has gone through a three-phase transformation that has resulted in its representation today of about 76 per cent of the public transport bus fleet.
